SIT-BAC
SIT-BAC (Standard Information Transfer for Buyer Assurance and Compliance) is an open source framework developed by Standard Information Inc. in conjunction and cooperation with a wide range of industry partners.
Buyers can verify One-To-One compliance in real time.
Buyer names DON’T need to be passed in plain text, preventing changes and protecting sources.
Vendors and Buyers can continue to buy and sell from marketplaces and aggregators while still being fully compliant.
SIT-BAC provides a free to use unified technical framework for Lead Generators, Marketplaces, and Lead Buyers to comply with the FCC’s new One-To-One requirement that will go into effect Jan 2025. This technical framework is compatible with existing ping/post and direct post models and can be easily configured to be compatible with other proprietary One-To-One solutions.
How to use SIT-BAC?
SIT-BAC can be used and configured by companies in all stages of lead generation, buying and selling and on behalf of lead buying clients. In most cases, SIT-BAC must be configured to work with a company's lead distribution software. Servers can be configured in private hosted environments or companies can also use an already supported lead distribution platform.
What is the FCC One-to-One requirement?
The FCC One-To-One requirement is a modification of the TCPA laws that requires that the name of the company providing services to a consumer be named and disclosed to a consumer and that the consumer affirmatively consents on a one-to-one basis (i.e., a consumer cannot agree to a list of companies) before consent to contact that consumer is considered valid under TCPA regulations.
For more information, see this article or read the full regulation here.
Why SIT-BAC?
SIT-BAC is of the Industry, by the Industry and for the Industry and offers several main advantages:
Free, Open Source & Decentralized
Allows for end buyer post rejections
Allows selling to marketplaces and where the buyer company name is not known to the lead generator
Compatible with existing ping/post and direct post flows
No required changes to landing pages frontend design*
Optimized landing pages and lead flows do not necessarily need to be changed, with most pages only needing a backend update. However, some lead flow changes are suggested for optimal performance.
Allows for verification of FCC compliance and secure encoded transfer of FCC names to the website
Compatible with non SIT-BAC standard and buyers not requiring One-To-One
Can be done on the behalf of end buyer clients
Discover SIT-BAC
SIT-BAC allows website operators generating leads to comply with the One-To-One requirement while still utilizing a ping/post, direct post or other auction based lead distribution. SIT-BAC also allows lead marketplaces (sometimes referred to as aggregators) to buy and sell One-To-One compliant leads and allows Lead Buyers the ability to buy One-To-One compliant data and ensure that compliance has been met.
The White Paper on SIT-BAC and FAQ page also detail the security advantages of SIT-BAC, how SIT-BAC is able to deal with post rejections, timing issues, and be compatible with partners not utilizing a One-To-One compliance protocol.
Setting Up SIT-BAC
Setting up SIT-BAC and the technical complexity (if any) will depend on if the company is using a Supported Platform or self hosted private instance of SIT-BAC and how the company interacts with leads (e.g., generator, buyer, seller etc.).
